Internationally recognised qualifications

The qualifications you receive in Western Australia will be recognised by employers and leading education institutions around the world.

All registered English Language Intensive Courses for Overseas Students (ELICOS) providers in Australia strictly adhere to the National English Language Training Accreditation Scheme (NEAS). The Scheme is globally-recognised as the world’s best standard for English language tuition, and is now being used in many other countries.

The Australian Government also has a system, called the National Office of Overseas Skills Recognition (NOOSR), to recognise previous qualifications that you’ve completed in other countries.

Government-registered institutions

Every Australian education provider that teaches international students must be registered on the Commonwealth Register of Institutions and Courses for Overseas Students (CRICOS).

Separate Western Australian legislation sets additional obligations and strict codes of conduct for education providers that are officially registered to enrol overseas students.

Guaranteed quality assurance

All public and private institutions follow a consistent and legally-enforceable National Code of Practice 2007, which sets high standards for quality and ethical practice in the areas of curriculum, qualifications of teaching staff and student facilities.

Student protection

When you study on a student visa, your interests are protected by the Education Services for Overseas Students (ESOS) Act 2000, which regulates education and training services and provides tuition and financial assurance.
