Australian Government scholarships

If you have excelled in your studies and have achieved outstanding academic results, you may be eligible for an Australian Government scholarship.

The scholarships are managed by the Australian Agency for International Development (AusAID) and the Department of Education, Employment and Workplace Relations (DEEWR), and include the following educational programs:

  • Undergraduate studies
  • Postgraduate studies
  • Research programs
  • Vocational Education and Training (VET)
  • Student exchanges

*Australian Government scholarships are not available to those undertaking English language studies

There are three programs available:

Endeavour Awards

The Endeavour Awards provides the opportunity for citizens of the Asia-Pacific and Middle East regions to undertake study, research and professional development in Australia. A smaller number of Awards are available to citizens from Europe and the Americas. The Endeavour Awards provides students a unique opportunity to further their academic or professional career.

Australian Leadership Awards

Australian Leadership Awards are offered to high achievers from the Asia-Pacific region to undertake postgraduate study (Masters or Doctorate) at an Australian university. Study programs must relate to AusAID’s priority areas of disability, economic growth, education, environment, food security, gender, governance, health, human rights, infrastructure, regional stability, rural development, and water and sanitation.

Australian Development Scholarships

Australian Development Scholarships equip scholars with the skills and knowledge to drive change and influence the development outcomes of their country. Scholars are required to return to their country for two years after they have completed their studies to implement these skills. Up to 1,000 scholarships are awarded each year across 31 countries, and are awarded equally between men and women.
